Experience the Adventure...

The Lowe's Great Safety Adventure is a traveling exhibit that teaches basic life skills to help children, families and communities learn about four important home safety risk areas: fire and burn prevention; falls prevention; choking, suffocation and strangulation prevention and poison prevention.   Here's how it works. Lowe's Great Safety Adventure mimics an actual 1,200 square foot house. There are many special interactive features to discover: The living room prepares children for their adventure through an animated orientation video. The video introduces Rover-the hound whose nose knows safety. When Rover spots a hidden hazard in the home, his nose turns red and spins like a siren. It's time for "Code Red Rover"-and time for kids to identify unsafe items in the room. Children then shout, "Code Red Rover! Grown Up Come Over!" alerting adults to correct the problem.

The kitchen creates a real life "What's wrong with this picture" exercise where children practice identifying safety hazards. Trained tour guides magically correct the problems (with the help of some special effects), leaving the room a model for safe behavior.

The backyard, bathroom and bedroom continue the safety adventure through a guided tour of Rover's home. The bedroom offers a grand finale to the exhibit experience as children learn about fire escape plans, and then, practice an "escape."

A trained home safety specialist will escort each group of children through the exhibit-ensuring that safety messages are clearly delivered.
